Product Overview
The GREEF New Energy GDG series disc-type permanent magnet generator features an innovative iron-core-free design. This unique generator employs a spindle and rotor arranged in a disc configuration, with the stator fixed at the center and the rotor rotating on both sides. The spindle contains only windings without an iron core, significantly enhancing generator performance.
Both stator and rotor utilize a flat disc structure with axial air gap magnetic flux, positioned alternately along the axial direction for a compact form factor. The disc generator combines a short axial length with a large diameter, making it ideal for multi-pole configurations.
The GDG series offers exceptional power-to-mass ratio, low-speed operation, and efficient startup even at low wind speeds. Its compact, lightweight design results in low energy consumption and streamlined structure. High efficiency and minimal wind resistance make it perfect for direct-drive vertical axis wind turbines.
Available in two configurations: outer rotor (stationary casing with center cable routing) and inner rotor (rotating shaft with external cable exit).

“I built a small pico hydro system on the creek behind my off-grid cabin. The water head is only 3 meters and flow rate around 0.2 m³/s – too low for most generators. This axial flux coreless unit starts generating usable power at just 150 RPM. No cogging, no iron loss, and it’s silent. I’m getting 300-400W continuously, 24/7. My old induction generator would barely light an LED at that speed. Absolutely perfect for low-head hydro.”
